A newly minted SUNY Canton professor has spent some years in the Canton-Potsdam area and is here to stay, at least for a while.
Erica Sharpe graduated from Clarkson University on May 10 with a Ph.D. in chemistry. She previously graduated from SUNY Potsdam with bachelor's degrees in chemistry and music education.
She is joining the faculty at SUNY Canton in the fall as an assistant professor of chemistry.
She continues to be active in music, playing violin and piano for various groups in the North Country as well as giving private piano lessons.
