Five employees of SUNY Potsdam and Canton received the Chancellor's Award for Excellence.

Nancy Alzo of SUNY Potsdam was awarded for librarianship.

Ada Santaferra of SUNY Potsdam was recognized for professional services.

Lawretta Ononye of SUNY Canton was honored for scholarship and creative activities.

Diane Brown of SUNY Potsdam was awarded for classified service.

Maureen Maiocco of SUNY Canton was recognized for teaching.

"Faculty and staff who receive the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence have served their students, fellow faculty and staff, campuses, and communities with the utmost distinction, and it is a great honor to be able to recognize them with the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence,” SUNY Chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher said in a statement. “Congratulations to all of this year’s recipients.”

Those selected are role models in the SUNY community, the statement says. Recipients are honored by their respective campuses during commencement exercises, at academic convocations or other special events hosted in their honor.
