CANTON — A set of admissions materials produced by St. Lawrence’s University Communications has won the top award in its category from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).

St. Lawrence University’s “Student Recruitment Package,” including the viewbook and companion travel piece, posters and postcards, earned the communications team the Gold Award in one of the most competitive and comprehensive categories in the CASE District II Accolades Awards.

University communications also received a bronze award for its viewbook in the “Student Recruitment/Individual Print Pieces/Viewbook” sub-category, an Honorable Mention Award for “Visual Design in Print/Publications” for the viewbook, and an Honorable Mention Award for “Website/Institutional Homepage.”

Judges “examine each entry for quality, creativity, innovation, adherence to professional standards, and success in meeting stated objectives,” according to the judging criteria.

“I am particularly proud of this acknowledgment of our team’s work re-imagining these key communications,” said Vice President for Communications Tom Evelyn. “This past spring, we completed a comprehensive redesign of our website and created an entirely new suite of admissions materials highlighting storytelling and using large, dramatic images that help prospective students imagine being part of the St. Lawrence experience.”

The awards, which were announced earlier this week, will be presented during the CASE District II Conference in Baltimore in February.

CASE is an organization of advancement professionals in the areas of alumni relations, communications and philanthropy. District II is the largest of the eight CASE districts, with more than 700 members in Delaware, Washington, D.C., Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Ontario, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and West Virginia.
