St. Lawrence University Assistant Professor Xiaoshuo Hou recently published a book on the economy in rural China titled “Community Capitalism in China: The State, the Market, and Collectivism.”
The book focuses on the social and economic changes taking place in parts of rural China.
The book was recently published by Cambridge University Press.
Hou has been teaching at St. Lawrence since 2009. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Nanjing University, China and a Ph.D. in sociology from Boston University.
