The Deep Root Center has hired St. Lawrence University graduate student André Lynch as the educational program director.

Lynch will receive his master’s of education degree in educational leadership this summer.

He graduated with a bachelor's degree in law enforcement leadership from SUNY Canton in 2013.

He was also recently accepted into the doctorate of education program in organizational management in higher education at Grand Canyon University.

Lynch is excited to “bring his many talents and extensive experience in liberal arts education to the students at Deep Root Center,” according to a press release from the center. “He is passionate about youth development, higher education access for all, and changing negative public perceptions of men of color.”

Lynch will take on the task of building and maintaining the Deep Root Center class schedule, facilitating several classes, and recruiting volunteers who will tutor and mentor the center’s student members.

A collector of retro gaming systems, Lynch is also an outdoor enthusiast who spends time ice fishing on Black Lake. He enjoys good food and loves to cook.
