Noah Zuker of St. Lawrence Surgery in Ogdensburg and Canton was recently sworn in as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons during the annual clinical congress in Washington D.C.

Becoming a fellow of the ACS signifies that the surgeon’s education and training, professional qualifications, surgical competency, and ethical conduct have passed evaluation and are consistent with the standards established and demanded by the college.

Zuker joined St. Lawrence Surgery in 2011 after an advanced laparoscopic fellowship in Paris, France.

He completed surgical residency in June 2010 at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center in Albuquerque, and medical school at Ben Gurion University in Israel.

After successfully becoming a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery by completing its examination process, he qualified and was accepted into the fellowship of the American College of Surgeons, according to a press release.

Zuker is engaged in full time practice of general surgery, specializing in advanced minimally invasive management of complex abdominal wall hernias and digestive disease.

His offices are located St. Lawrence Surgery at 305 Main Street Ogdensburg, and 39 West Main Street Canton.

Appointments can be made at 393-2611.

The ACS is the world’s “largest scientific and educational association of surgeons,” according to a press release.

It was founded in 1913 to “improve the quality of care for surgical patients by setting high standards of education and practice of surgery,” the release said.

The ACS is dedicated to improving the care of surgical patients and safeguarding standards of care in an ethical practice environment.
