POTSDAM -- St. Lawrence Health System’s Canton-Potsdam Hospital congratulated its 2018 DAISY Award recipient Pauline Ma, a nurse in Medical Surgical Unit 2.
Ma began at CPH in 2015 on MED/SURG 2, demonstrating many skill building achievements including her nursing Bachelor of Science degree, Bio-Chemo Certification, and MED/SURG certification. She also plans to become a nurse practitioner.
Addressing Ma on her award, Jeff Groenheide, MED/SURG 2/ICU Director, said, “You now join a worldwide community of the most amazing nurses, whose practice is noteworthy not only for clinical skills, but for the personal acts of kindness and compassionate care you provide to your patients and their families. Your positive attitude and professionalism make you an excellent role model for our nurses, as you exemplify the mission, vision and values of Canton-Potsdam Hospital.”
DAISY is an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System and was established by the DAISY Foundation in memory of a patient whose parents established the foundation in their son’s memory because they said they had experienced firsthand the skills and compassionate care of many nurses.
