POTSDAM -- St. Lawrence Health System physician Mariam H. Asar was recently named a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.
This appointment marks the second fellowship of Asar’s career, as she was named a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics in 1996.
According to the American College of Physicians, fellow status “is a distinction earned from esteemed academies that recognizes accomplishments and achievements over and above the practice of medicine,” according to a press release from Tracy Jarvis, an administrative assistant at Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
