The Patrick "Bird" Kerr Worksite Wellness Champion Award from the St. Lawrence County Health Initiative has been presented to Sheri Sharpe of United Helpers.
Sharpe has been recognized for over 30 years of service with the agency.
This honor is presented to an employee who exhibits many of the same qualities that the late Patrick Kerr did.
In order to be considered for the award, an employee must be nominated by fellow employees, administration, or Health Initiative representatives.
The award will be presented each year at the Health Initiative annual meeting with a perpetual plaque to be placed at the Health Initiative office.
After losing considerable weight and quitting smoking at the same time, Sharpe still strives to be a healthier individual every day. She tracks her physical activity and watches what she eats. She has maintained her weight loss and looks for other individuals who she can team up with to improve her health even more.
