Students from throughout St. Lawrence County receive scholarships while attending Clarkson University

POTSDAM -- The following St. Lawrence County students received scholarships at Clarkson University during the 2012-2013 academic year:

• Mathew J. Sherry, Ogdensburg, majoring in physics and digital arts and sciences, received the Elinore and Beecher '50 Greenman Class of 2016 Share Clarkson Direct Scholarship.

• Mandie A Gurewitz-Hajek, Hammond, a sophomore majoring in communications and history, received the Albert L. and Mary S. Sayer Endowed Scholarship.

• Andrew M. Bluestein, Norwood, a senior majoring in mechanical engineering and physics, received the Robert W. Carroll Jr. '63 Undergraduate Endowed Scholarship and the Theodore Sr. and Wanda McWharf Endowed Scholarship.

• Zachary C. Boak, Norwood, a senior majoring in applied math and statistics and physics, received the Robert W. Carroll Jr. '63 Undergraduate Endowed Scholarship, KarDan Endowed Scholarship and the Merton Van Sant/Industrial Development Agency Endowed Scholarship.

• Keagan M. McGovern, Canton, a senior honors student majoring in mechanical engineering and physics, received the Gordon W. Babcock '46 Endowed Scholarship and the Frederick W. Cleveland North Country Merit Endowed Scholarship.

• Joshua J. Adams, Hannawa Falls, a freshman majoring in civil engineering, received the John D. and Helen Chapple Endowed Scholarship.

• Makayla Anson, Hermon, a sophomore majoring in engineering and management, received the Dorr B. Begnal '83 Class of 2015 Share Clarkson Direct Scholarship.

• Erin Bassney, Massena, a junior majoring in environmental health science, received the James P. Papayanakos Endowed Scholarship.

• Chelsey E. Carr, Lisbon, a senior majoring in psychology, received the James P. Papayanakos Endowed Scholarship and the Leo '25 and Gertrude Ploof Endowed Scholarship.

• John P. Coleman, Potsdam, a sophomore honors student majoring in mathematics, received the W. Jon Harrington Class of 2015 Share Clarkson Direct Scholarship.

• Sara Deschaine, Potsdam, majoring in biology, received the Merton Van Sant/Industrial Development Agency Endowed Scholarship.

• Danielle A. Easton, Gouverneur, a senior majoring in engineering and management, received the Merton Van Sant/Industrial Development Agency Endowed Scholarship.

• Brielle Farley, Gouverneur, majoring in engineering and management, received the Elinore and Beecher '50 Greenman Class of 2016 Share Clarkson Direct Scholarship and the Gus '82 and Magda Mininberg Endowed Scholarship.

• Kimberly A. Farrow, Hermon, a senior majoring in professional studies, received the Arthur, Eleanor and Jack Mietz Endowed Scholarship.

• Jay D. Fuller, Ogdensburg, a senior majoring in financial information systems, received the W. Allan Newell Endowed Scholarship, Edgar A. Newell II Endowed Scholarship and the Shelly Electric Endowed Scholarship.

• Matthew T. Gardner, Heuvelton, a senior majoring in electrical engineering, received the Fay '62 and Nadine Tolman Endowed Scholarship and the Merton Van Sant/Industrial Development Agency Endowed Scholarship.

• Emily A. Gonthier, Norfolk, a freshman majoring in environmental engineering, received the Elinore and Beecher '50 Greenman Class of 2016 Share Clarkson Direct Scholarship.

• Cassandra L. Grace, Potsdam, a sophomore majoring in business studies, received the John D. and Helen Chapple Endowed Scholarship and the Merton Van Sant/Industrial Development Agency Endowed Scholarship.

• Crescent M. Islam, Potsdam, a senior majoring in biomolecular science, received the Wendell O. Covell Endowed Scholarship and the James T. and Grace B. Smith Endowed Scholarship.

• Matthew J. Jenack, Massena, a sophomore majoring in engineering and management, received the Shelly Electric Endowed Scholarship.

• Nicole R. Johnson, Massena, a senior majoring in global supply chain management, received the Edgar A. Newell II Endowed Scholarship.

• Brianne E. Kiliman, Massena, a senior majoring in chemical engineering, received the F. Carlton and Ethel B. Simpson Memorial Endowed Scholarship and the Anna and Frank Greenwall Endowed Scholarship.

• Christopher A. Kirkpatrick, Russell, a junior majoring in engineering and management, received the H. Douglas and Sara Barclay Endowed Scholarship.

• Caitlin M.B. Kuca, Ogdensburg, a sophomore majoring in business studies, received the W. Allan Newell Endowed Scholarship and the Edgar A. Newell II Endowed Scholarship.

• John-Paul J. Mailhot, Massena, a sophomore majoring in engineering and management, received the Arthur, Dora and JoAnn L. Armani Endowed Scholarship.

• Michael McDonell, Ogdensburg, a sophomore majoring in business studies, received the Edgar A. Newell II Endowed Scholarship.

• Logan A. Norris, Massena, a freshman majoring in biology, received the Merton Van Sant/Industrial Development Agency Endowed Scholarship.

• Calene Richards, Massena, a freshman majoring in business studies, received the Professor Robert Barr Endowed Scholarship.

• Tanner R. Richardson, Ogdensburg, a senior majoring in engineering and management, received the Arthur, Dora and JoAnn L. Armani Endowed Scholarship and the Benson G. Diefendorf Endowed Scholarship.

• Quinn D. Rufa, Ogdensburg, a freshman majoring in engineering and management, received the Merton Van Sant/Industrial Development Agency Endowed Scholarship.

• Corey R. Snider, Massena, a sophomore honors student majoring in engineering and management, received the Sara Snell Petersen/W. Hollis Petersen Endowed Scholarship.

• Claire M. Sweeney Canton, a senior majoring in biology, received the Frank and Lee Augsbury Endowed Scholarship.

• Matthew Tomford, Lisbon, a sophomore majoring in mechanical engineering, received the Ernest and Evelyn Bulriss Endowed Scholarship.

• Justin S. Tremblay, Massena, a senior majoring in engineering and management, received the Joan and Barry S. Fischer '54 School of Business Endowed Scholarship, the Albert L. and Mary S. Sayer Endowed Scholarship and the Fay '62 and Nadine Tolman Endowed Scholarship.

• Mitchell G. Tubbs, Massena, a sophomore majoring in computer engineering, received the Robert '74 and Julia Storms Class of 2015 Share Clarkson Direct Scholarship.

These scholarships are due to the many donors of endowed, sponsored and Share Clarkson scholarships. Scholarship support is essential to providing students with the financial resources necessary to receive an education at Clarkson.
