CANTON -- Several St. Lawrence County students were among the 548 students recently awarded degrees at St. Lawrence University's Commencement ceremony.
St. Lawrence's Commencement speakers were John J. O'Shea, an immunologist at the National Institutes of Health; Roger W. Ferguson Jr., president and chief executive officer of TIAA-CREF; and retired SUNY Canton President Joseph L. Kennedy.
All three speakers received honorary degrees at the ceremony.
The University's North Country Citation was awarded to the Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence County.
The following students received degrees at the ceremony:
• Sidney Dunn of Canton graduated cum laude and was awarded a degree in psychology.
• Conner P. Eldridge of Winthrop graduated magna cum laude and was awarded a degree in English.
• Ethan E. Frank of Canton graduated cum laude and was awarded a degree in government.
• Jacob J. Fredericks of Ogdensburg graduated magna cum laude and was awarded honors in philosophy and government.
• Lindsey J. Haggett of Massena graduated magna cum laude and was awarded a degree in biochemistry.
• Allysa L. Houle of Childwold graduated magna cum laude and was awarded a degree in biology.
• Noah C. Jenkins of Colton graduated cum laude and was awarded a degree in philosophy.
• Patrick C. Mullen of Potsdam graduated cum laude and was awarded a degree in neuroscience.
• Chloe P. Whalen of Morristown graduated magna cum laude and was awarded honors in economics and psychology.
• Ariel M. Wich of Canton was awarded a degree in economics.
• Katherine E. Torres of Canton was awarded a degree in performance and communications arts.
• Elizabeth A. Billings of Colton was awarded a degree in biology.
• Edward J. Blewett of Canton was awarded a degree in economics.
• Jeffrey A. Chudzinski of Madrid was awarded a degree in performance and communications arts.
• Molly J. Coryer of Ogdensburg was awarded a degree in performance and communications arts.
