OGDENSBURG -- Several Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center employees were recently honored as part of the new “Claxton Defenders” program.
Kandy Simmons, RN, was chosen as a “Brawler.” A brawler effectively manages challenge and hardship, is strong and confident, and empowers others.
Simmons has been employed at Claxton-Hepburn since 1979 and has managed the Dr. Ravinder N. Agarwal Renal Center’s CAPD program for over 30 years.
Kay Zimmer, social worker and patient navigator, was chosen as a “Snoop.” A snoop seeks answers and follows through; provides comprehensive, compassionate, and caring service by going the extra mile; and is an observant and good listener.
Zimmer has worked at Claxton-Hepburn since 2007.
Jennifer Soper, RN, was chosen as a “Loudmouth.” A loudmouth is a patient advocate, an effective communicator, and promotes safety and quality.
Soper has been employed at Claxton-Hepburn since 2001 and currently works in the intensive care unit.
Kathleen White was chosen as a “Renegade.” A renegade is a troubleshooter and problem solver, an innovator, and continuously seeks improvement.
White has been employed at Claxton-Hepburn since 2003 and is an electro cardio lab technician in the cardiology department.
Jeff Green, RPh, was chosen as a “Warrior.” A Warrior is a team player, is fully engaged in their role, and dependable and has the power to endure.
Green has been employed at Claxton-Hepburn as a pharmacist since 2005. He works in the Richard E. Winter Cancer Center.
Each winner received flowers, a recognition certificate, gift cards, a parking space, and lunch with CEO Nate Howell at a restaurant of their choice.
