OGDENSBURG -- Several Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center employees were recently honored as the first chosen in a new employee recognition program called the “Claxton Defenders.”

Under the new program, a “Brawler,” according to a statement from CHMC, "effectively manages challenge and hardship, is strong and confident, and empowers others."

The title went to Kimberly Russell.

Russell is a nurse at the Madrid Health Center and has been employed at Claxton-Hepburn since 2006.

A “Snoop,” according CHMC, "seeks answers and follows through; provides comprehensive, compassionate, and caring service by going the extra mile; and is an observant and good listener."

The title went to Julie Kreider.

Kreider is a nurse in the medical and surgical unit and has been employed at Claxton-Hepburn since 2010.

A “Loudmouth” is "a patient advocate, an effective communicator, and promotes safety and quality," the statement said.

The title went to Karen Cole.

Cole is a certified diabetes educator and has been employed at Claxton-Hepburn since 1981.

A “Renegade” is "a troubleshooter and problem solver, an innovator who continuously seeks improvement," CHMC said.

The title went to Andrew Impaglia.

He is a senior accounting officer and has been employed at Claxton-Hepburn since 2010.

A “Warrior” is a "team player, is fully engaged in their role, dependable and has the power to endure," CHMC said.

The title went to Keith Warren.

Warren is a physical therapist and has been employed at Claxton-Hepburn since 2002.

Each winner received flowers, a recognition certificate, gift cards, and lunch with CEO Nate Howell at a restaurant of their choice.

New Claxton Defenders will be recognized each quarter.

Employees can be nominated by co-workers and supervisors.
