American Kang Duk Won karate students from Ogdensburg, Canton, Gouverneur and Heuvelton recently earned upper-level brown belts.
They were evaluated on skills in formal exercises, self-defense, sparring, history and philosophy.
Those taking the test had at least three years of training.
