POTSDAM -- Sina Lufkin of Potsdam recently qualified for the Adirondack All Star Zone team during the Adirondack Long Course Championship at Colgate University in Hamilton.

To qualify for the Adirondack All Star Zone Team required an AA USA Swimming cut time and a top finish in their age group during the recent Adirondack Championship.

Lufkin will swim Aug. 5 to Aug. 8 in the 2015 Eastern Zone age group Long Course Championship in Richmond, Va., at the Collegiate School Aquatics Center, which houses the 2008 US Olympic Trials pool.

The All Star team will compete against 11 other swimming committees in the Eastern Zone of USA Swimming including Allegheny Mountain, Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Metropolitan, Middle Atlantic, New England, New Jersey, Niagara, Potomac Valley and Virginia.

During this four day Championship, Lufkin will compete in six individual events plus three relays: 50-meter Butterfly, Backstroke and Breaststroke, 100-meter Butterfly, 200 & 400-meter Freestyle events including the 200-meter Medley Relay, and the 200 & 400-meter Freestyle Relays.

Northern TRIBS Swimming Head Coach Joshua Jock will join Lufkin as a coach of the Adirondack Zone Team. This will be Jock’s first time on deck during this level of competition.

Jock coached three previous TRIBS members to this level, most recently Lufkin’s older brother, Leon, who made the Adirondack Short Course All Star Team in March 2015.

TRIBS is the only USA Swimming club serving Franklin and St. Lawrence Counties and will soon open registration for the fall/winter short course season, planned for Sept. 14 through March 13.

Information about lessons and practice is available at www.goTRIBS.org.
