POTSDAM -- Shannon Smith of Potsdam Central School was recently awarded a $1,000 scholarship through the 2013 Best Buy Scholarship Program.
Recipients are selected based on solid grades and exemplary community service and/or work experience.
At a ceremony Manfred Laube, Community Specialist for Best Buy presented the award to Smith.
Smith plans to attend Roberts Wesleyan College this fall to pursue a degree in Education.
Last year’s winner was Allison Akins of Lisbon Central School Lisbon.
