Potsdam resident Noah Chichester, a freshman at SUNY Geneseo, was selected as a bass soloist for a recent concert commemorating the 150th anniversary of the end of the Civil War.
The May 3 concert marked the end of Professor of Music James Walker’s 45th year as conductor of the Geneseo Symphony Orchestra. He was joined by Lee Wright, guest conductor for the Geneseo Chamber Singers.
The concert brought together the Geneseo Symphony Orchestra, the Honors Chamber Orchestra, the Festival Chorus, Chamber Singers and numerous soloists in Wadsworth Auditorium.
Wright conducted Pergolesi’s “Magnificat,” and Walker will conduct Vaughan Williams’ “Dona Nobis Pacem” (Grant Us Peace).
