Photographer Blair Madore, Potsdam, took grand prize honors in the 2018 Adirondack Mountain Club (ADK) Laurentian Chapter Photo Contest. He and the other winners were announced at the recent annual meeting of the chapter.
Madore's photo seen here, "Whiteface Thrill," also received first prize in the Action Category.
Another of his photos, "Western Brook Pond," also took top honors in the Landscape Category.
Jeanna Matthews, Massena, took top honors in the Nature and People categories with the photos “Ferns Unfurling” and “Skating on the Rideau Canal.”
Bob Platte, Potsdam, won the Artistic category with his photo “Ice Storm Impression.”
Jeff Miller, Potsdam, Richard Wheldon, Cranberry Lake, Jean Fallon, Colton, and Jeanna Matthews received honorable mentions for their work.
The contest was judged by Art Boni, Ottawa, Geri Ames, Massena, and Fiona Barron, Ottawa, and organized by Tom Ortmeyer, Potsdam.
