Two Winthrop brothers were recently deployed to different parts of the globe with different arms of the U.S. military.
Ensign Adam Mattison is with the U.S. Navy aboard the destroyer USS Truxtun on a mission to support maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 6th Fleet in the Mediterranean Sea.
John Mattison is with the U.S. Marine Corps in Darwin, Australia. He is participating in training exercises with the Australian Military Forces and other partnered nations.
The brothers are the sons of Susan Wojakowski of Winthrop, and the late Jack Mattison, originally of Carthage.
