The Office for the Aging recently presented the 2015 Senior Awards at the 44th May Festival, sponsored by the St. Lawrence County Council of Senior Citizens.
Edward Fischer, DeKalb Junction, received the 2015 Senior Citizen of the Year award.
Joyce Persons, Star Lake, received the 2015 Outstanding Contribution by a Senior Citizen award.
The Senior Award winners traveled to Albany to attend a reception at the Egg, sponsored by the New York State Office for the Aging.
The day was capped off with a tour of the capital and special recognition by members of the state assembly during their legislative meeting.
