U.S. Air Force Airman First Class Alexis C. Sweet of Norwood recently graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.
“The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills,” according to a press release.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Sweet is the daughter of Eric Sweet of Norwood and Laurie Bigness of Carlisle, Pa., and step-daughter of Christine Sweet of Norwood and Bruce Bigness of Carlisle, Pa.
She graduated in 2013 from Norwood-Norfolk Central School and earned an associate degree in 2015 from State University of New York at Canton.
