Josiah Colbert of Potsdam was recently selected as the Rotary Club student of the month for October.

Colbert is the son of Patrick and Patricia Colbert and is a student at Norwood-Norfolk Central School.

As a student in the metalworking program at the Seaway Career & Technical Education Center, Colbert is involved in various applications of entry level and advanced welding applications and content, according to a press release from the school.

Upon completion of the program, he will be able to enter the work force as a certified entry level welder or continue his education and certification.

“Josiah is extremely reliable, always positive, helps his peers without hesitation and can usually be found working hard on advanced skills such as TIG welding,” said Nanci Collins, his instructor.

“He has a great outlook on life and his positive personality is contagious. He has perfect attendance. I would recommend Josiah for any establishment for employment or education/training facility. He will be attending a work based learning experience for the month of May and I am very excited to place him in the area’s top facilities.”
