Norwood-Norfolk Central School names students of the month for October

NORWOOD -- Several students were recently chosen as students of the month for October at Norwood-Norfolk Central School.

Students are selected for “their academic achievements, integrity and leadership in the school and throughout the community,” according to a press release from the school.

Maisie Voss was chosen as the freshman student of the month for October. She is the daughter of Robert and Meaghan Voss of Norwood.

Voss enjoys singing and playing the saxophone, playing sports and watching college basketball. She runs, plays soccer, basketball and softball.

She is a member of the drama club, band and chorus. She plans to go to college and study forensics.

Sicilia Kahrs was chosen as the sophomore student of the month for October. She is the daughter of Marcy Smutz and Ed Kahrs of Norwood.

Kahrs enjoys soccer, softball and art. She participates in school activities such as soccer, softball and drama club and band.

Her future plan is to go to college to study phycology or astronomy.

Colden Richards was chosen as the junior student of the month for October. He is the son of Mark and Kelly Richards of Norwood.

Richards is interested in math and science as well as sports. He plays varsity soccer and varsity golf and is a member of the Varsity Club.

He is in the National Honor Society and ADP program. He plans to attend college and work in the medical field.

Breanna DeShane was chosen as the senior student of the month for October. She is the daughter of Judy and Bruce DeShane.

DeShane enjoys sports and spending time with friends. She plays varsity soccer, basketball and softball.

Upon completion of high school, Breanna plans to attend SUNY Brockport and become a physical therapist.

Hotel Grande and Al Smiths of Norfolk and The Hometown Café and Lobster House of Norwood donated gift cards to the students of the month.

The Teacher’s Association presented the senior student of the month with a gift card to the Clarkson Bookstore.
