Norwood-Norfolk Central School names students of the month

NORWOOD -- The staff at Norwood-Norfolk Central School has selected students of the month for February.

Vanessa Prashaw is the freshman student of the month. She is the daughter of Ellen and Jeff Prashaw of Norwood. Prashaw likes spending time with her friends and family and loves to travel. She participates in soccer, softball and drama club. She plans on going to college after high school.

Brandi Delosh is the sophomore student of the month. She is the daughter of Tanya and Fred Delosh of Norwood. Delosh enjoys playing sports, reading, fishing and spending time with her family. She participates in soccer, basketball, softball and Varsity Club. Her future plan is to attend SUNY Potsdam or St. Lawrence University.

Emily Brothers is the junior student of the month. She is the daughter of Francis Brothers and Andrea Maroney of Norwood. She enjoys reading, working, criminal justice, working out and playing sports. She participates in Key Club and is a member of the prom committee. After high school she plans to work for a year and prepare for the military.

Jordon Poliski is the senior student of the month. He is the son of Carri Poliski of Norwood. Poliski enjoys drawing, playing basketball and four-wheeling. Jordon plans to attend either SUNY Potsdam or SUNY Plattsburg for liberal arts. He hopes to eventually find a major he will enjoy.

Students are selected for their academic achievements, integrity and leadership in the school and throughout the community, according to a press release from the school.

Students received a gift card from a local restaurant. Donations were from Hotel Grande and Al Smith’s of Norfolk and The Hometown Café and Lobster House of Norwood.

The senior student of the month is also given a gift card to the Clarkson Bookstore by the Teacher’s Association.
