Norwood-Norfolk Central School names students of the month

NORWOOD -- Several students were recently chosen as students of the month in January at Norwood-Norfolk Central School.

Sici Kahrs was chosen as the freshman student of the month in January. She is the daughter of Marcy Smutz of Norwood. Sici loves soccer, football and art. She participates in soccer, band, softball and drama club. She plans to attend SUNY Potsdam for psychology.

Colden Richards was chosen as the sophomore student of the month in January. He is the son of Mark and Kelli Richards of Norwood. Colden enjoys math, science, music and sports. He is enrolled in advanced honors classes and participates in school activities, including golf and soccer. Colden plans to work in the medical field.

Breanna DeShane was chosen as the junior student of the month in January. She is the daughter of Bruce and Judy DeShane of Massena. Breanna loves to play sports and spend time with her family. She participates in soccer, basketball and softball. She is a member of the National Honor Society and the treasurer of the Varsity Club. She plans to attend college to become a physical therapist.

Edona Hadzovic was chosen as the senior student of the month in January. She is the daughter of Alketa and Cena Hadzovic of Norfolk. Edona enjoys reading, traveling and science. She is a member of Key Club, National Honor Society, Varsity Club, and yearbook. Edona plans to attend Clarkson University and major in chemistry.

Each student received a gift card from a local restaurant. The businesses that donated include Hotel Grande and Al Smiths of Norfolk and the Hometown Café and Lobster House of Norwood.

The senior student of the month was also presented with a gift card to the Clarkson Bookstore by the Teacher’s Association.
