Norwood-Norfolk Central School names students of the month

NORWOOD -- Several local students were recently named students of the month at Norwood-Norfolk Central School for December.

Brianne Colbert was the freshman student of the month in December. She is the daughter of Jack and Christina Colbert of Norwood. Brianne loves going to sporting events in support of the school. She enjoys being with friends, camping, four wheeling and running. Brianne runs cross country, indoor track and outdoor track. She plans to have a bright future with a nice family that she can support as a psychologist.

Shavanah Planty was the sophomore student of the month in December. She is the daughter of Christopher and Billy Joe Planty of Norfolk. Shavanah participates in school activities such as Key Club, Travel Club, track and soccer. She enjoys running, playing street hockey and watching Netflix. Shavanah’s future plan is to become a lawyer or a state trooper.

Peter Jarvis was the junior student of the month in December. He is the son of Paul Jarvis of Norwood and Sandra Prosper of Norfolk. Peter is an athlete and participates in cross country, indoor track, and baseball. Peter is a member of the National Honor Society. After high school he plans to attend college for engineering.

Coby Munson was the senior student of the month in December. He is the son of Karis and Greg Munson of Norfolk. Coby is interested in sports and concentrates on doing well in school. Coby is a member of Key Club and National Honor Society. He plays varsity soccer, hockey, and baseball. Coby plans to attend SUNY Canton for sports management.

Each student received a gift card from a local restaurant, including Hotel Grande and Al Smiths of Norfolk and the Hometown Café and Lobster House of Norwood.
