Norwood-Norfolk Central names its students of the month for May

NORWOOD -- Norwood-Norfolk High School recently announced students of the month for May.

Freshman – Sydney Jarvis, daughter of Aaron and Karen Jarvis of Norfolk. She loves to read a variety of books, most of which are fictional. She also enjoys writing and swimming in the lake at her family camp, singing and playing her trumpet. She is a member of Key Club and participates in many of the events in which the club takes part. She also sings in chorus and plays trumpet in band. In the future, she plans to attend college, and possibly become an occupational or physical therapist. She is still unsure of her future but she knows that she wants to help people, according to a news release from the school.

Sophomore – Alyssia Simons, daughter of Kathy O’Neil and Louis Simons of Norfolk. She enjoys playing sports and writing. She plays soccer, basketball, and softball. She also participates in Varsity Club. After high school, she plans to go to college for sports marketing or sports medicine.

Junior – Sici Kahrs, daughter of Marcy Smutz and Ed Smutz of Norwood. She loves to spend time and travel with her friends and family. She is her class secretary. She is involved art, National Honor Society and Drama Club. She is a member of the varsity soccer and varsity softball teams. She plans to attend college after high school.

Senior – Skylar Fetter, daughter of Kent and Robin Fetter of Norwood. Her interests and hobbies include reading, writing, art, traveling, roller skating and film. She runs cross county and outdoor track. She is a member of Envirothon, Varsity Club, Stage Crew, Chorus, and Whiz Quiz. She has won many awards for her photography and helped with the production of the yearbook. She also was a member of the Whiz Quiz team. She is in the Academic Distinction Program. She will attend Columbia University in New York City in the fall to study English and then pursue a law degree following the completion of her undergraduate studies.
