Ashley N. LaFleur of Norwood and Jacqueline A. Sovie of Ogdensburg were recently inducted into Pi Mu Epsilon, the national mathematics honorary society, at St. Lawrence University.
LaFleur is a member of the class of 2017 and is majoring in eonomics. She attended Norwood-Norfolk Central School.
Sovie is a member of the class of 2018 and is majoring in economics-mathematics. She attended Lisbon Central School.
Membership eligibility in Pi Mu Epsilon varies by class year, but all students must have taken a qualifying number of mathematics courses and have achieved minimum grade-point averages in those courses, as well as overall, depending upon one's seniority.
