CANTON -- The following students received awards at Moving-Up Day ceremonies held recently at St. Lawrence University.
• Chloe P. Whalen, Class of 2013, of Morristown; Whalen was presented with the Omicron Delta Kappa Inductee Award. She is majoring in Psychology and Economics. Omicron Delta Kappa is a national leadership honorary that recognizes upperclassman who are successful in academics, athletics, community and campus service, the performing arts, and journalism. Whalen graduated from Morristown Central School in Morristown.
• Cody S. Witherell, Class of 2011, of Parishville; Witherell was presented with the J. Richard Gilbert Memorial Award. He is majoring in Global Studies with a minor in Educational Studies. The J. Richard Gilbert Memorial Award honors the junior or senior student who has made the greatest contribution in promoting interest and active participation in music. Witherell graduated from Parishville-Hopkinton Central School in Parishville.
• Allysa L. Houle, Class of 2013, of Childwold; Houle was an Omicron Delta Kappa Inductee. She is majoring in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. Omicron Delta Kappa is a national leadership honorary that recognizes upperclassman who are successful in academics, athletics, community and campus service, the performing arts, and journalism. Houle graduated from Tupper Lake Middle High School in Tupper Lake.
