MASSENA -- The Massena Rescue Dive Team held training on Sunday Feb. 17 at the Hawkins Point Boat Launch.
Members of the Dive Team geared up in Stearns Cold Water Rescue Suits and trained in the frozen St. Lawrence Seaway from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Seven members gained national certification as Cold/Ice Rescue Technicians. They had to show proficiency in self rescue, patient rescue, animal rescue and proficiency in using various ice rescue equipment.
The following members gained their Technician certification:
Randy Montour - Cold/Ice Rescue Technician
Richard Daniell - Cold/Ice Rescue Technician
Taylor Maningo - Cold/Ice Rescue Technician
Korey Trippany - Cold/Ice Rescue Technician
Ryan Jacobs - Cold/Ice Rescue Technician
The following members gained their Operations Certification:
Dana Jock - Cold/Ice Rescue Operations
Michael Abernathy - Cold/Ice Rescue Operations
