Massena, Ogdensburg, Winthrop residents receive achievement awards from St. Lawrence University during 'Moving-Up Day'

CANTON -- The following students recently received achievement awards from St. Lawrence University during its “Moving-Up Day” April 25:

• Katherine P. Bronchetti of Massena received the Terry Cowdrey Award. Bronchetti is a member of the class of 2016 and is majoring in environmental studies. She graduated from Massena Central High School.

• Audrey H. Hayes of Massena received the Bradley R. Evers Outstanding First-Year Student Award. The award is granted to first-year students who best exemplify qualities of good citizenship at the university. Hayes is a member of the class of 2018. She graduated from Massena Central High School.

• Michaelyn J. Hunter of Winthrop received the Bradley R. Evers Outstanding First-Year Student Award. Hunter is a member of the class of 2018. She graduated from St. Lawrence Central High School.

• Michaelyn J. Hunter of Winthrop received the First Year Cup Award. The First-Year Cup Trophy is presented to the first-year student that gained the most points attending First-Year Cup events during the academic year. Hunter is a member of the class of 2018. She graduated from St. Lawrence Central High School.

• Jacob M. Hurlbut of Massena received the Vasco P. Abbott 1867 Award. The Vasco P. Abbott 1867 Award is given to a campus leader for dedication and service to the St. Lawrence community over the past year. Vasco P. Abbott was the founder and first president of the Thelomathesian Society in 1863. Hurlbut is a member of the class of 2015 and is majoring in computer science. He graduated from Massena Central High School.

• Jessica L. LaMay of Ogdensburg received the Bradley R. Evers Outstanding First-Year Student Award. LaMay is a member of the class of 2018. She graduated from Madrid-Waddington Central School.
