Amber Cunningham was recently chosen as the Potsdam Rotary Club student of the month for April.
Cunningham is a student at Seaway Career & Technical Education Center in Norwood. She is the daughter of Robert and Melanie Cunningham and is a student at Massena Central School.
As a student in the HVAC/R program, Cunningham is involved in basic electrical theory, wiring, troubleshooting skills, use of an electrical meter along with common electrical and mechanical hand tools, fundamental principles of refrigeration, fundamental principles of combustion, and trade safety, according to a press release from BOCES.
Upon completion of the program Cunningham will be eligible for a job as an entry-level technician or to further her studies at college.
Other students selected as program student of the month in their class at Seaway Career & Technical Education Center include: Racheal Remington, allied health, Parisville-Hopkinton; Alyshia Middlemiss, cosmetology, Massena; Morgan Ramsdell, cosmetology, St. Lawrence Central; Tyler Trahan, criminal justice, Canton; and Calista Sochia, early childhood education, Parishville-Hopkinton.
