The Boys & Girls Club of Massena recently selected Reagan Cole as the Youth of the Year.
Cole was the club member “who has best demonstrated dedication and excellence throughout this year’s part time pilot program,” according to a press release from the organization.
She is a sixth grade student at Nightengale Elementary school.
She was awarded with a field trip to Ottawa, along with eight other club members. She was also allowed to select one friend to accompany her on the trip, and she chose her younger sister, Analeyna Cole, who is also a club member.
The kids travelled to Laser Quest and Sky Zone in Ottawa. For some, it was their first time across the Canadian border.
“I thought Sky Zone and Laser Quest was the best thing of my life. We had a lot of fun, “said Cole. “I couldn’t stop thinking about it.”
“Those who earn the Youth of the Year title embody the values of leadership service, academic excellence, and healthy lifestyles,” according to the release.
