January high school students of the month chosen at Norwood-Norfolk Central

NORWOOD -- Norwood-Norfolk Central School has selected its Students of the Month for January. These students are selected for their academic achievements, integrity and leadership in the school and throughout the community.

Anthony Larabee, freshman, is the son of Steven and Tiffany Larabee of Raymondville. Anthony loves sports and watches them and plays whenever he can. He also enjoys listening to music. He is a member of the JV basketball team, and part of the Varsity Club. He is considering a career as a surgeon or an engineer.

Makenna King, sophomore, is the daughter of Danielle Lenney and Chris King of Norwood. Makenna’s favorite subject is math. She is a member of the Varsity Club and Drama Club. She was in cast of this year’s musical, Little Shop of Horrors. She runs cross country and outdoor track. She plans enter the medical field.

Isabelle Phippen, junior, is the daughter of Steven and Kimberly Phippen. Her interests include art, singing, theatre, and music. She is a member of ADP, Art Club, Key Club, National Honor Society, Bel-Aires, and All County. She is president of the Drama Club and participates in musical productions. Isabelle plans to study art near New York City and hopes to pursue a life in theater.

Lily Parmeter, senior, is the daughter of Laurie and John Parmeter. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She runs cross country and track, and is a member of National Honor Society, Varsity Club, and Travel Club. She will be attending SUNY Plattsburgh to become a registered nurse.

The Norwood-Norfolk PTSA solicits gift cards from local businesses for each student. The businesses that donated are the Hotel Grande and Al Smiths of Norfolk and The Hometown Café and Lobster House of Norwood.

The Teacher’s Association presents the senior student of the month with a gift card to the Clarkson Bookstore.
