Holy Name of Jesus Academy in Massena recognizes several students for academic achievement

MASSENA -- The Holy Name of Jesus Academy recently recognized several students for academic achievement.

Students were recognized for “academic excellence, for their good spirit, and perseverance,” according to a press release.

Therese McCarty received a scholarship for academic excellence from the New York State Education Department.

Angela Roberts and Sarah Young received “congratulations” for outstanding academic and leadership performance from the comptroller of New York, Thomas DiNapoli, according to the release.

Miranda Cruz and Kathrina Libit received the Triple "C" Award, given on behalf of the attorney general of the New York, which “acknowledges students who have stood out by their character, courage, and commitment,” the release said.

Sarah Young and Celeste Fullerton received “outside recognition” for their help to the Hopkinton Historical Museum and other community activities, the release said.

Laura Gutierrez, Gabriela Patterson, and Gabriela Reyes received a certificate of merit for Introduction to Latin.

Alyssa Anderson, Josephine Beck, Christina Carlisle, Kathrina Libit, Adrianna Schell, Alexandra Wallace and Jennifer Young earned cum laude for the national Latin exam.

Nicole Bradley, Sarah Bradley and Sarah Young earned magna cum laude for the national Latin exam.

Nicole Bradley, Sarah Bradley, Barbara Carmona, Kathrina Libit, Angela Roberts, Monica Schiltz, Jennifer Young and Sarah Young received awards for the national Greek exam.

Barbara Carmona, Marycarmen Carmona, Theresa Kallal, Claire Lambert, Monica Schiltz, Jennifer Young and Sarah Young were recognized from excelling “in quickness and accuracy in times tables,” the release said.

Nicole Bradley, Claire Lambert and Sarah Young were recognized for their work in Latin declension and conjugation.

Maire-Anne Belisle, Nicole Bradley, Irene Chapleau and Jennifer Young

were recognized for their work in French conjugation drills.

Megan Carter was recognized and Gemma Lapka and Monica Trummer were awarded the special mention for most polished performance for this year’s "Spring Piano Goals."

Adrianna Schell and Josephine Beck were given awards for “active participation in the ensemble” by Lorie Gruneisen, the release said. Beck was also recognized for her “skill and determination in learning the violin, viola, organ and piano.”
