John Liquori, a sixth grade English and social studies teacher at Heuvelton Central School, was recently selected to receive a scholarship to attend the Arthur and Rochelle Belfer National Conference for Holocaust Educators in Washington, D.C. in July 2016.
Funded by a grant from the Belfer Foundation, the conference is designed for middle and high school educators and community college faculty, according to a press release from Liquori.
At the conference, museum educators and scholars share rationales, strategies, and approaches for teaching about the Holocaust, Liquori said.
