HEUVELTON -- Katelyn S. Bates of Heuvelton has been selected for membership in the St. Lawrence University chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, the national history honorary society.
Bates is a member of the Class of 2018 and is majoring in history. Bates attended Heuvelton Central School.
In order to be eligible for membership in the society, a student must have taken at least four courses in history and obtained an grade-point average (GPA) of 3.1. The student also must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0.
