Heather Finnerty of Hermon was recently awarded a $1,000 scholarship by the AAA Members Insurance Agency of Western and Central New York.
She is the daughter of Richard and Dawn Finnerty.
Scholarship winners exemplify “outstanding academic achievement and community involvement throughout their high school tenure,” according to a press release.
This is the eighth year AAA has offered the Insurance Scholarship for AAA Western and Central New York.
To be eligible, students must maintain a grade point average of 3.0, demonstrate leadership and volunteerism in their community, and actively participate in at least two years of extra-curricular activities, the release said.
The Insurance Scholarship for AAA is open to high school students residing in the 25-county territory of AAA Western and Central New York.
