Paul Sweet of Gouverneur was recently presented with the Overall Excellence in Theatre Award at Lycoming College’s honors convocation.
Sweet is a senior majoring in theatre design and psychology.
The award is given annually to a senior who demonstrates “outstanding contributions in two or more theatre disciplines,” according to a press release.
Sweet also earned the McDowell Scholarship, which is given to a graduating ministerial student who “excels in scholarship, deportment, and promise of usefulness and who declares ministry as life work,” the release said.
Lycoming is a four-year, residential liberal arts and sciences school with an undergraduate population of 1,400 students.
Lycoming offers 36 academic majors and is recognized as a Tier 1 institution by U.S. News & World Report, according to the release.
Founded in 1812 and located near the banks of the Susquehanna River in Williamsport, Penn., Lycoming is one of the 50 oldest colleges in the nation.
