Sarah Rich Yablonski of Gouverneur was recently awarded a $1,000 scholarship by AAA Members Insurance Agency of Western and Central New York.
Yablonski is a senior at Gouverneur High School and plans to attend St. Lawrence University, where she will major in neuroscience.
She is the daughter of Lori Rich and Mark Yablonski.
Yablonski was one of six students chosen for the scholarship, and she was the only student from St. Lawrence County chosen.
“To be eligible, students must maintain a grade point average of 3, demonstrate leadership and volunteerism in their community, actively participate in at least two years of extra-curricular activities, and plan to attend a college, university, or accredited technical school in New York State,” according to a press release from AAA.
The Insurance Scholarship for AAA is open to high school students residing in the 25-county territory of AAA Western and Central New York.
