GOUVERNEUR -- Grace Mashaw of Gouverneur Central High School recently received a Singing Valentines Scholarship award from the Canton Goldenaires.
Mashaw is the first winner from Gouverneur Central High School and was chosen for “her academic achievements, her involvement in school activities and her community volunteer work,” according to a press release from the Goldenaires.
The scholarship program began fifteen years ago and has benefited more than 40 students. Funding for the program is provided by community members who order Singing Valentines.
Grace will attend LeMoyne College to work towards a major in sociology and a minor in music.
