Four St. Lawrence County residents were part of the five-person contingent that represented New York state at the recent National Junior Horticultural Association Convention in Lexington, Ky.
They included Adam Romlein and Anna Hardiman of Potsdam and Jessica Hall of Hopkinton. Their coach, Bill Mackentley, is from Potsdam as well. The other member of their team was Rachel Gregoire Orleans County.
The squad took first place in "Horticulture Connections," a Jeopardy-like game, and fourth in the horticulture identification and judging contest.
