SAN ANTONIO -- Steven Karl Baker, formerly of Potsdam, has been promoted to captain in the Texas state corrections system.

Captain Baker is the son of Betsy Baker of Potsdam and a 1991 graduate of Potsdam high school.

Baker now resides in San Antonio, Texas and will begin his new assignment in Abilene in 2013.

He and his wife Dolores Lott-Baker, also a corrections officer, will be relocating to Abilene in the near future.
