Kathleen McLean Ogborn, formerly of Massena, was recently recognized for teaching excellence at SUNY Delhi.
She was recognized by the Association of Veterinary Technician Educators with the Elsevier Award for Teaching Excellence.
Ogborn is the daughter of Errol and Donna Mclean of Norfolk and a 1987 graduate of Massena Central School.
She holds business and veterinary technology degrees from SUNY Canton and bachelor’s and master’s degrees in agriculture and life sciences from Cornell.
She is an associate professor in the veterinary science technology program at SUNY Delhi.
She has taught at SUNY Delhi since 1999, where she has developed and taught courses in clinical nutrition, clinical techniques and small animal care. She has also self-published lab manuals and workbooks in her courses.
She has also co-chaired the Student Success Work Group and continues to serve as a member.
She has volunteered for a number of campus committees including the Promotion Committee, Institutional Accreditation Work Groups, and College Senate.
The award for Teaching Excellence was established to honor veterinary technology educators who are recognized by their students and colleagues as exceptional instructors.
Ogborn was honored at the annual meeting of the AVTE Symposium in Niagara Falls, Canada.
