MASSENA -- Former Massena resident and SUNY Cortland senior Nick Zappia was recently named a hockey Division III All-American by the American Hockey Coaches Association.

Zappia may be SUNY Cortland’s first men’s ice hockey All-American, according to the school.

He scored 24 regular season goals and 47 points in 25 games, and was tied for first on the team with 23 assists. He ranks first in Division III goals per game at .96 and points per game at 1.88 nationally, and is tied for first in goals scored, Cortland says.
