Former Canton resident graduates basic combat training

Army Reserve Pfc. Britanny T. Coffey recently graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. after nine weeks of training.

Coffey studied the army mission, history, tradition, core values and physical fitness.

She also received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, the military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.

She is the daughter of Roxanne and John Coffey of Canton.

She graduated in 2009 from Hugh C. Williams High School, Canton.
