EDWARDS -- Several local residents were recently honored as “heroes” of the Edwards-Knox community by the Edwards-Knox leadership class.
Heroes included Meagan McGrath, Fred LaPoint, Kathy Whitmarsh, Trish Gotham, Dick and Rita Lottie, Tomorrah Averill, Richard (Dick) Knox, Joe and Melissa Bellinger, Malissa Hale, Brandie McDonald, and the custodial staff at Edwards-Knox.
Heroes were chosen “due to their work and commitment to the students at EK, their contributions to children in foster care, and showing courage in the face of extreme health challenges,” according to a press release from the school.
The leadership class handed out nomination forms to staff and students at the school, and those nominations were read at a heroes ceremony Feb. 10.
Members of the leadership class include seniors Mackenzie Frary, Karli French, Arael Scott, Cheyanna Tuttle, and Alaina White.
