Colton resident installed as new Potsdam Rotary Club president

POTSDAM -- Amanda Crump of Colton was recently installed as the 2015-2016 president of the Rotary Club of Potsdam at the Rotary annual dinner.

During the ceremony, Christa Carroll was also recognized as outgoing president.

Crump has worked in the banking industry for more than 14 years and is the branch manager of Key Bank in Potsdam.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Everest University and is enrolled in the online MBA program at Clarkson University.

Crump has been a member of the Rotary Club of Potsdam since 2011. She says that she originally joined the club to engage in networking opportunities as the new branch manager at a local bank. "But I quickly learned Rotary was much more than that," said Crump.

"I had joined a group of caring professionals that took time out of their busy schedules to help their local community by volunteering and organizing fundraising events. When you join Rotary, not only are you a part of something great at the local level, but at the international level as well, such as with our relentless effort to end Polio."

Soon after joining Rotary, Crump was elected secretary and has served on the board of directors ever since.

She is also involved with the annual Duck Pluck, served as co-chair of last year's scholarship golf tournament, and has been involved with Interact and the Dodge Pond committee.

"I am excited to continue the visions of our previous presidents and to create some new ones of my own," says Crump.

Crump also serves as secretary of the Potsdam Humane Society and has served on Potsdam Chamber of Commerce committees.

Crump is a lifelong resident of the North Country, for the past 13 years in Colton.

She is the daughter of David and Janet Bartlett of Colton and is married to Jeffrey Crump. The couple has a two-year old daughter, Alexis.

The Potsdam Rotary Club meets each Wednesday at noon at Ponderosa in Potsdam.
