OGDENSBURG -- Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center’s Auxiliary recently awarded five $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors planning to enter a medical field.
The awards were given out at the yearly spring dinner at Gran View Restaurant.
Three scholarships were awarded to children or grandchildren of center employees or auxilians. Gabrielle Walker of Lisbon, Kaitlyn Piercey of O.F.A. and Kaleb Morrow-Simmons of Heuvelton received scholarships.
Additional scholarships were given to Zendel Cordwell and Madeleine Ward of O.F.A.
The committee was able to increase the yearly scholarship from the $500 awarded in past years to $1,000 due to the success of fundraisers like the Festival of Trees, craft and gift shop sales and other fund raising events.
To join the auxiliary contact Rondalyn Jacobs or Ramona Kennedy at 393-1559.
