OGDENSBURG -- Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center and NxStage Medical have named nurse Paul Jarvis as the NxStage Nurse Hero for the Eastern United States.
Jarvis was also the runner-up for the national Nurse Hero Award.
He was nominated by his patients, care partners, and colleagues from Claxton-Hepburn’s Ravinder N. Agarwal Renal Center.
The Nurse Hero award recognizes the role home hemodialysis nurses play in helping patients to receive access to vital dialysis therapy.
Jarvis was recognized at a ceremony at the Ravinder N. Agarwal Renal Center recently, surrounded by family, patients, and coworkers. He was presented a plaque from NxStage staff Jackie Gilmer, clinical consultant, and Stephen Morgan, senior area manager as well as Claxton-Hepburn President and CEO Nate Howell, and senior management from Claxton-Hepburn.
Jarvis has worked at the Ravinder N. Agarwal Renal Center for over 20 years and has been working with home hemodialysis patients for the last three years.
